Jess Documentary Project

posted: February 17, 2005

Hello fellow Gooney Friends. If your visiting this website chances are you were touched by the inspirational voice of the one and only Jessica Schwartzbauer McDonald. Over the years Jess touched us all with her voice, her smile, her spirit, her amazing warmth and compassion, and her larger than life personality.

We are reaching out to you now to "flash back" to the days when livin' for Sunday nights at the Cabooze was what got you through the week. Do you have photos of those days? How about the days before the Gooney Birds? Grade school, Jr. High, High School? How about parties? Gooney Shows, Dead Shows? Video? Audio?

We want them! Quality is not an issue, we want to see them!! We are in the works to honor Jess on film and we are reaching out to her friends and fans to share anything they have, from photos to stories. Poems or notes, either to or from Jess would be awesome! We want to hear your thoughts about Jessica, from childhood to motherhood. Just email Wally at Wallyszoo@msn.com with anything you think would add to the film.

We realize this is not an overnight project, so the sooner you can dig up those old photos, and video the sooner we can get the tribute started. Please pass this on to anyone and everyone you think would be interested. Either Email or whatever type of communication you can use to get the word out PLEASE do! If anyone feels inspired to contribute to this project and may have skills that could help us (video, audio, artists of all kinds), please contact us!

Thank you so much! Peace and God Bless you ALL! Let the celebration begin!!

Jessica Memorials

A message from Karen Schwartzbauer:

Jessica's Vocal Music Foundation will be awarding a $1000 scholarship to a "talented vocal music performer" at MacPhail for next year. The foundation has received enough donations so that this scholarship will continue each year.

We will be dedicating 2 permanent exhibits August 6th at the Children's Museum of Great Falls in memory of Jessica, Izaak and Anika. The exhibits are a dress up room called "Anika's Closet" and a science lab called "Izaak's Imaginarium". Our family will attend and her friends are all invited. It's a great town and very near Glacier.

The anniversary of the murders is July 1st. Jessica and the children are buried at Lakewood cemetery near Uptown. Her friends and fans have not forgotten her with a constant flow of flowers

We miss her and the children as much as all of you do.

Love, Karen Schwartzbauer.
